Community standards — zero tolerance
encircled has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This is a private space for friends to share books with each other, and it only works if everyone treats each other with care.
You may not post, share, send, or otherwise distribute any content that is:
- Hateful, harassing, threatening, or that targets a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected status.
- Sexual or pornographic.
- Violent, that glorifies violence, or that incites harm against others.
- Spam, scams, or commercial solicitations.
- Illegal, that infringes someone else's intellectual property, or that violates someone else's privacy.
- Misinformation that could cause harm.
- Otherwise objectionable in our sole judgment.
You also may not engage in abusive behavior toward other users, including harassment, stalking, threats, impersonation, or repeated unwanted contact.
Enforcement
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and without prior notice, to:
- Remove any content that violates these terms or that we believe is objectionable.
- Suspend or permanently ban any user who violates these terms or who behaves abusively toward other users.
- Cooperate with law enforcement when required by law.
We may take action based on a report from another user, our own review, or any other source. We are not obligated to provide a reason or warning before removing content or banning a user.
Reporting and blocking
If you encounter content or a user that violates these terms, the app gives you tools to act on it directly:
- Report any profile, book, message, or circle by tapping the … menu and selecting “Report.” Reports are reviewed by our team and acted on within 24 hours.
- Block any user by tapping the … menu on their profile or in your conversation with them, and selecting “Block.” Blocking instantly hides their content from your feeds, conversations, and circles, and prevents them from contacting you. You can manage blocks from Settings → Privacy → Blocked Users.
Use these tools any time someone’s behavior makes encircled feel unsafe or unwelcome. We treat every report seriously.

Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use encircled. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your email account secure since it's used for sign-in.
- You're responsible for the activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts on behalf of others without permission.
What you can do
You can:
- Add books to your shelf and share them with circle members.
- Create circles and invite friends to join.
- Send messages to circle members.
- Request to borrow books from circle members.
- Lend your books to circle members.
What you can't do
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose.
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users.
- Post or share content that's offensive, hateful, or violates someone else's rights.
- Spam other users or circles.
- Attempt to access accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or modify the app's code.
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the app.
Your content
You own the content you add to encircled (book entries, messages, photos). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to display your content within the app to circles you've joined. You can delete your content anytime.
Borrowing books
encircled helps you coordinate book lending between friends. We are NOT a party to any lending arrangement. Any agreements about books — condition, return dates, replacement if lost or damaged — are between you and the other user. Spacera LLC is not responsible for lost, damaged, or undelivered books.
Service availability
We try to keep the app running smoothly, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice.
Termination
You can delete your account anytime via Settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spacera LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any disputes will be handled in courts in Travis County, Texas.
